Karen Chrapek, BSBM, RRT, Recovery Coach Professional, CCAR Trained Recovery Coach Trainer, Interventionist, began her career in the public relations arena in 1989 as the Executive Assistant to the General Manager/VP of Operations of Universal Studios. During her career at the studios, she focused mainly on project management, special events, crisis communications, and community relations. Karen received three employee awards during her 12-year tenure at Universal Studios.

In 2002, Karen went to Narcotics Anonymous World Services to coordinate projects, marketing and special events. While there she launched a major Public Relations effort by implementing historic PR Roundtable meetings with a variety of professionals and collaborated with governmental agencies to develop public relations strategies designed to improve the organization’s public image.

Karen left Los Angeles in 2003 to move to Ormond Beach, Florida. At Mobility Products Unlimited, LLC, as their special projects manager, she implemented Community Relations/Employee Relations programs and managed Government Relations efforts. Later Karen became the Director of Donor Relations for Neighbor To Family, a foster care agency that keeps siblings together. Her career in the addiction field flourished while working at the Darryl Strawberry Recovery Center (DSRC). While there Karen provided value-driven public relations, business development and admissions as well as education about addiction. Being in long term recovery herself, her passion is helping individuals struggling with the self-destructive cycle of using drugs to find recovery through her company, KC Originals, Recovery Consulting Services. Karen is the president of the Governing Board of Directors for the Volusia Recovery Alliance. This newly developed Recovery Community Organization provides resource services to anyone seeking recovery from the impact of addiction including families, friends and allies.

Karen has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, Woodland Hills, CA. Her favorite pastime is creating artwork based on Florida’s lush landscape.
